For one weekend, the Salle communale de l’Exemple in Fribourg turns into a giant games room: over forty tables of strategy games, logic puzzles, magic squares, towers of Hanoi in all sizes and a tournament of Hex that anyone can join.
Volunteer facilitators — students and teachers from the region — explain the rules, drop hints and reveal the mathematics hiding behind each game, in French and German as befits a bilingual town. Come for twenty minutes or stay all afternoon: entry is free and no registration is needed. Children under 8 should be accompanied.
