For three days, mathematics takes over the lakeside of Lugano: giant puzzles on the piazza, a mirror maze, evening talks with a view of the lake, workshops for every age from four to a hundred and four, and a mathematical treasure hunt through the old town.
The festival brings together researchers, teachers, artists and game designers from Ticino and beyond. Most activities are in Italian, with a daily programme strand in English; the format — hands, eyes and playing pieces first — makes almost everything accessible whatever your language.
Admission is free for the whole programme. A few workshops with limited places can be booked on site on the day, first come, first served. The full timetable is published two weeks before the festival.
